PUBLIC NOTICE
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has approved clean-up activities for the petroleum release at Town Pump Inc Superior. The clean-up activities are required by DEQ under the authority of 75-5-501 through 75-11-526, Montana Code Annotated (MCA) and Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM) 17.56.606. The DEQ Petroleum Tank Cleanup Section requested, reviewed, and approved the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) prepared and submitted by West Central Environmental Consultants (WCEC) on behalf of the owner/operator of the facility listed below. Copies of the CAP are available upon request by contacting the Petroleum Tank Cleanup Section at the DEQ Remediation Division by emailing Tom Dodge at ThomasDodge2@mt.gov.

The work to be conducted under the above-described CAP will include excavation and transport of petroleum contaminated soil from the Town Pump Inc Superior Facility to a landfill during the Summer of 2025. The work will involve the use of a heavy equipment vehicles such as excavator, frontend loader, dump trucks, compactor, etc. Area residents and visitors can expect to see soil disturbed in and around the west dispenser islands and underground storage tanks. Local traffic may be affected by construction activities and the transport of contaminated soil to the landfill.
