Water Quality | MPDES Small MS4 Rulemaking | Rule Adoption Notice Regarding MAR Notice 2026-489.3
DEQ has amended Title 17, chapter 30, subchapter 11 of the Administrative Rules of Montana, pertaining to Montana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (MPDES) permits, definitions, and designation procedures for Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s).
On April 24, 2026, the department published MAR Notice No. 2026-489.1 pertaining to the proposed amendment of the above-stated rule within Issue Number 8. On May 8, 2026, the department published a supplemental notice (MAR Notice No. 2026-489.2) pertaining to the proposed amendment of the above-stated rule within Issue Number 9.
The department has amended the above-stated rules as proposed.
The effective date of this change will be September 5, 2026.
