Water Quality | Final Environmental Assessment for the Territory 1889 – Phase 1 (formerly named Flathead Lake Club Subdivision – Phase 1)
Territory 1889 – Phase 1, (formerly named Flathead Lake Club Subdivision – Phase 1) encompasses 79 residential lots, approved by Flathead County on August 21, 2025, ranging from approximately 1 to 12 acres in size, together with associated open space parcels, roads, and utility infrastructure, located on a tract of land located in Sections 29 and 30, T26N, R20W, P.M.M.
The DEQ completed Sanitation Act review of the sanitary facilities. The draft EA was available for public comment for 30 days from May 15, 2026, to June 15, 2026. Comments on the draft EA were accepted at deqengprogrammepa@mt.gov until 11:59 p.m. on June 15, 2026. For accessibility and to reach as many interested persons as possible, DEQ hosted a virtual, Zoom only public hearing to collect oral comments on the draft EA on June 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
DEQ received numerous public comments on the draft Environmental Assessment (EA). DEQ reviewed all comments and responded to substantive comments in the final EA.
