Waste Management Bureau | Environmental Assessment for the Motor Vehicle Wrecking Facility: R&R Diesel Repair | Helena, MT | Comment Period Ends July 2, 2026
To comply with the Montana Environmental Policy Act, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) prepared a draft environmental assessment (Draft EA) regarding a proposed Motor Vehicle Wrecking Facility (MVWF) in Lewis & Clark County, Montana.
The proposed MVWF will be in Lewis & Clark County, within a fenced area at 1060 Blaine St., Helena, Montana. The property is owned by R&R Diesel Repair Inc. The legal description of the facility is, HEWINS ADDN, S28, T10 N, R03 W, BLOCK 4, Lot 10, & N10' VAC ALLEY COS #3051260. The applicant is applying to license approximately 1 acre of the 1.45-acre parcel. Approval would allow the applicant to buy, sell, or deal in four or more vehicles per year of a type required to be licensed, for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling, or substantially altering the form of the motor vehicle.
