Brownfields | Brownfields State Redevelopment Fund Guidance | Comment Period Ends October 24, 2025
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking public comment on the Brownfields State Redevelopment Fund Guidance which outlines funding eligibility requirements and distribution of funds statutorily appropriated through House Bill 808 during the 2025 Legislative Session.
HB 808 created The Montana Brownfields Revitalization Act, which amended MCA 75.11.4 and established the Brownfields Site Redevelopment Fund. This fund provides the DEQ Brownfields Program with $200,000 per year for two years (Fiscal year 2026 and 2027) to assist communities in covering costs for both Environmental Site Assessment and Cleanup of Brownfields sites across Montana.
