A determination has been made by DEQ to issue a new Montana Ground Water Pollution Control System (MGWPCS) permit, MTX000325, to Weyerhaeuser NR Company for the Weyerhaeuser Kalispell Complex. This permitting action authorizes the discharge of wastewater to ground water.
The facility is an existing sawmill and plywood plant first established in the 1960’s. The Applicant applied for new wastewater discharge permit coverage on November 21, 2025.
To facilitate operations, wastewater is collected from multiple industrial sources including on-site stormwater. The wastewater is either collected and conveyed to, or flows overland to, five on-site infiltration ponds. The purview of this MGWPCS permit is for the operation and maintenance of the existing wastewater and monitoring systems.
The location of the infiltration ponds are as follows:

- Outfall 004: Southeast Section 32, Township 29 North, Range 21 West; Latitude: 48.22936, Longitude: -114.28808.
- Outfall 005: Southwest Section 33, Township 29 North, Range 21 West; Latitude: 48.23148, Longitude: -114.28582
