The renewal of this General Permit will continue to provide statewide general permit coverage for owners/operators of disinfected water and hydrostatic testing operations that discharge to state surface waters. The renewal is for a five-year cycle.

The General Permit allows disinfected water and hydrostatic testing operations that meet effluent limits and other conditions specified in the permit to discharge to state surface waters. The General Permit includes effluent limitations for Total Residual Chlorine (TRC), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH, Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes (total), and oil & grease and monitoring requirements for flow. In addition, the draft permit includes a requirement for erosion control through installation and maintenance of Best Management Practices.
