Water Quality | Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster Public Water Supply System | Flathead County | Comment Period Closes February 28, 2024
PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTICE The purpose of this notice is to invite public comment on a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) regarding potential approval of the public water facilities associated with the proposed Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster. Following public comment and response on the draft EA, DEQ will issue a final EA and take action on the application under the Department authority of 75-6, Montana Code Annotated, Public Water Supplies, Distribution and Treatment. A copy of the draft EA is available on the Department’s website https://deq.mt.gov/public
PROJECT INFORMATION
EQ Number & Name of Project: 23-2644 Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster Public Water Supply System
The subject property is located on private property north of Lakeside, MT. The legal description is S07, T26N, R20W, C.O.S. 8633, ACRES 16, TR 7BC W OF HWY IN L1 & NW4NW4.
SUMMARY: The project would authorize turning an existing well on the subject property into a public water supply well, and installation of a pressure tank and associated electrical and mechanical equipment within the mechanical room of an existing building.
PUBLIC COMMENT Public comments on the draft EA are invited and must be received by 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2024. Comments may be directed to the DEQ Water Quality Division, Engineering Bureau, PO Box 200901, Helena, MT 59620. All comments received or postmarked by the above date will be considered.
