Air Quality | 2026 Annual Air Monitoring Network Plan | Public Comment Period Ends June 21, 2026
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has prepared a Draft Air Monitoring Network Plan.
DEQ's Air Quality Bureau conducts scientific measurements of specific pollutants in the ambient air across Montana. Every year the Bureau conducts an overall assessment of its air monitoring program and proposes needed changes to it if needed, to ensure it remains valid, effective, efficient, of high quality, and in step with the changing realities of the state. The 2026 Annual Monitoring Network Plan document contains the results of the latest air monitoring network evaluation and is made available here for public review and comment.
