Air Quality Permits

The DEQ issues Montana Air Quality Permits for both stationary sources and portable emitting units. If a facility has the ability to move the emitting units from site to site it would be considered portable. Both the stationary and portable source applications are available below.

With respect to statutory timeframes, the overall permitting timeframe depends on the nature of the application. Applications subject to Title V synthetic minor limits, New Source Review, an EIS, or the Incinerator Rule are required to have a 30-day public comment period as opposed to the 15-day public comment period for other applications.
