Final Documents and EPA Approval Letters for Completed TMDLs

After TMDL documents are reviewed by stakeholders and the public, they are submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for approval. Final, EPA approved, documents are provided below in order of their completion date, beginning with the most recent. For reference, the TMDL Project Area Status Map shows areas with completed TMDLs.

Most of the TMDL documents contain a framework water quality improvement plan that can be used to guide development of local watershed restoration plans. Some documents also address non-pollutant causes of impairment with water quality restoration recommendations that include the same restoration activities needed to satisfy one or more TMDLs contained in the document. Local, voluntary restoration work and planning may be underway in the below locations. Conservation districts and local watershed groups are often involved in these efforts.
