Public Record of Petroleum Release Sites
DEQ has generated the tables described below in response to EPA’s Brownfields State Response Program requirement to establish and maintain a public record of sites at which response actions have been completed in the previous year and are planned to be addressed in the upcoming year.
Table 1 includes the name and location of sites at which response actions have been completed during the previous year. These sites were identified using DEQ’s database of active petroleum release sites, and the list includes any petroleum release site which was worked on by a DEQ case manager in the last year.
Table 2 includes the name and location of sites at which response actions are planned to be addressed in the next year. These sites have a current work plan or recent work plan request letter, have a LUST/Brownfields Section (LBS) task order in place, or are LUST Trust sites which do not have current task orders, but corrective action is planned in the upcoming year.
EPA also requires that states identify sites at which institutional controls are relied on as part of the remedial remedy. At this time, DEQ does not have any sites on the response action list that require institutional controls.
As per EPA requirement, these tables will be updated yearly, or more often as appropriate.
More information on any of the sites listed in Tables 1 and 2 can be obtained from the Montana DEQ Digital Atlas/Online Query Service provided via the Natural Resource Information System (NRIS) Digital Atlas interactive mapper and Online Query Service, or by calling the DEQ LBS or Petroleum Technical Section at (406) 841-5000.
