“We Proceeded On.”

The 2006 Conference, was hosted by the Montana Abandoned Mine Program, and was held in Billings, Montana, September 24 through September 27, 2006. There was a reception on the evening of the 24th with the General Session opening on the 25th. The Conference featured technical sessions, workshops, and toursg on the 25th through the 27th. The business meeting was held on the 27th. Montana hosted a pre-conference tour on the 22nd and 23rd, returning to Billings mid-day on the 24th. The pre-conference tour featured high altitude mining and reclamation across the Beartooth Plateau and a trip down into Yellowstone National Park.

Two hundred years ago Lewis and Clark documented their trek across Montana. As they documented the challenges that they faced each day, they always finished each entry with the simple statement "We Proceeded On". With their fortitude in mind, Montana made this simple statement the theme and motto for the Billings conference.
