HELENA – The Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public comment on an opencut mining permit application for a 45.3-acre site known as Ullman, located 6.5-mile north of Sidney in Richland County. The permit application has been submitted by Nelcon, Inc.

DEQ will hold a public meeting Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m., at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sidney located at 1500 S. Central Ave., just south of Sidney.

The meeting format is as follows:

6-6:30 p.m. – DEQ specialists will provide information during an open house.
6:30-7:45 p.m. – DEQ will give a brief presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session.
