The Montana Department of Environmental Quality Abandoned Mine Lands Program will hold an informational public meeting on the status of the mine subsidence investigation that occurred in Red Lodge over the past several years.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued a preliminary determination on the air quality permit for the proposed Otter Creek Coal Mine in southeastern Montana.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality announces construction cleanup will start up again at the Upper Blackfoot Mining Complex in May. This year’s construction will complete removal of the Mike Horse tailings impoundment and dam that began in 2014. Safety continues to be a top priority on this cleanup. 

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality and Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. have received a National Recognition Award in the environmental category from a national council of engineering companies. 

Many new homeowners may be eligible for a $500 per person ($1,000 per couple) Montana Energy Conservation tax credit for having installed highly efficient windows, doors, and heating equipment in newly-built homes.
