UNIVERSAL WASTE

A LQHUW accumulates a total of 5,000 kilograms (kg) (approximately 11,000 pounds (lbs)) or more of all universal waste categories combined at their location at any time.
The designation as a LQHUW is retained for the remainder of the calendar year in which the 5,000 kilograms threshold was exceeded, and may be reevaluated in the following calendar year.
A LQHUW is prohibited from disposing of universal waste.
A LQHUW is prohibited from diluting or treating universal waste, except by responding to releases or by managing specific waste as provided in 40 CFR 273.
