New EPA Standards for Residential Wood Stoves
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has strengthened its New Source Performance Standards for residential wood heaters to make new appliances burn cleaner. The updates are based on improved technologies and establish new federal air standards for several types of previously unregulated new wood heaters, including outdoor freestanding units. The rule does not affect existing woodstoves.
