Operator pays penalty to resolve mining violations

HELENA -- Van Dyken Trucking & Excavating, LLC (Van Dyken) conducted opencut operations on 4.0 acres outside the permitted boundary at the Kamerman Gravel Pit in Gallatin County, Montana. Van Dyken also failed to conduct operations in accordance with the Department-approved Plan of Operation. Van Dyken returned to compliance with the Opencut Mining Act by amending its Opencut Mining Permit.
