DEQ, Wyoming Resources Corporation resolve Air Quality Act violations

Helena---The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announced Wyoming Resources Corporation (Wyoming) has resolved violations of the Clean Air Act of Montana (CAA) that occurred at a facility in Sheridan County, Montana.

Wyoming violated the CAA and Administrative Rules of Montana by failing to adequately control produced oil tank and produced gas volatile organic compound (VOC) vapors.  Produced oil tank and produced gas VOC emissions must be captured and routed to a gas pipeline or a smokeless combustion device operating at 95 percent or greater control efficiency.

The failure to operate compliant air pollution control equipment has the potential to impact human health and the environment.

Wyoming installed compliant emission controls at the facility and paid a $16,000 administrative penalty to resolve the violations.
