DEQ, Baltrusch Construction resolve Air Quality Act violation
Helena---The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announced Baltrusch Construction Company, Inc. (Baltrusch) has resolved a violation of the Clean Air Act of Montana (CAA) that occurred at Baltrusch’s portable asphalt plant, which operates in Havre, Montana.
Baltrusch violated the CAA and Administrative Rules of Montana by failing to comply with its particulate matter (PM) emission limit during a source test at the Havre plant.
Violations of a PM emission limit have the potential to impact human health and the environment.
Baltrusch performed and passed a source test in May 2017, agreed to perform an additional source test in 2019 and paid an $8,000 administrative penalty to resolve the violation.
